Hans Rosling is brilliant.
His brilliance doesn't just lie in his big brain though, although I'm quite sure it's massive. It lies in his ability to communicate complicated statistical data in simple and easy to understand ways. Ways that make sense to all of us.
He is a global health researcher. I've watched many of his previous talks, including a classic on TED talks, but his most recent YouTube post (200 years of human health history of 200 countries in 4 minutes) is particularly brilliant. His beautiful display of graphical information is poetry.
The way he displays this information is relevant. It creates a curiosity in the observer. It engages you. It becomes meaningful to you. It makes you appreciate how lucky we all are to be living here, today.
What is most impressive is how he communicates in a way that is so much different than most of us communicate. It is simple. It is based on truth. It is full of passion. And because of this it inspires you. Or at least makes you think.
What can you do to inspire? What do you do?
